After high school, she first studied Marketing & International Business for a few years, but quickly realized it was not the career path she wanted to pursue. Drawn to freedom in both music and life, she decided to quit her studies to pursue a place at a music conservatory. In 2019, she moved to Cologne, Germany, where she completed a preparatory year in jazz education. One year later, she began studying jazz vocals in the Netherlands at Conservatorium Maastricht. From 2022 to 2025, she continued her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she obtained her music degree.

Amsterdam has since become her home and creative center. Here, she teaches voice, leads several musical projects as both a bandleader and sidewoman, and is firmly rooted in the Amsterdam jazz scene. She has recorded and regularly performs on both small and large stages such as the Bimhuis, alongside prominent names in the scene: Jasper Blom, the Chris Müller Big Band, and Philly piano prodigy Micah Graves. She has also studied and played with artists including Tineke Postma, Becca Stevens, Theo Bleckmann, Taylor Eigsti, Matt Brewer, David Linx, Fay Claassen, Anette von Eichel, Kendrick Scott, Will Vinson, Gerald Clayton, and Michael Mayo, to name a few.

Born in West Germany, young Nicola’s curiousity for sounds and music were sparked from an early age. She began discovering her musicality at the age of seven when she started taking piano lessons. Two years later, she found her true love language: singing.
